Shadow

male - chihuahua mix - 2 years old - 7 lbs.

Shadow has been at Faithful Hearts for almost 2 years, because he is a bit of an odd case. He is extremely standoffish when you first meet him. He’s terrified of new people, and will show it by growling and barking. We’re not sure what his life was like before he came to us, so we’re not sure why he displays this behavior. However, once he knows you, he is completely different – a super loving, playful lap dog.

Shadow will need a patient adopter who is willing to come to the shelter a few times for a slow introduction. He is better suited to a female adopter than a male adopter.

Shadow is neutered and up to date on vaccines, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention.

If you’re interested in adopting Shadow, please submit an adoption application. Once we receive it, we will call you to arrange a visit. If you have any questions, please contact us at (478) 231-6942.

If you are thinking of adding a loyal companion to your family, you will want to consider many factors in selecting the animal which best suits your lifestyle and fits your needs.

In most cases, your new pet was born as a stray, or abandoned or surrendered by a previous family. Your pet is going home to a new, unfamiliar place with strangers… which is kind of scary! Being gentle, considerate, patient, and kind will help ease your friend into his new family.
